The American Rangers Ministry for Boys and Men was founded in St. Louis, Missouri as a virtue-based character formation and life skill development program dedicated to encouraging virtuous, rugged manhood as foundational to strong, prepared, God-centered families.
The focus of the American Rangers is on the development and enhancement of leadership principles, key character traits, decision-making processes, self-reliance, woodcraft, wilderness survival, manual tradecraft and teamwork in boys, young men, fathers and their families. All activities are infused with moral, spiritual and character formation. The intent is "challenging fun" – enjoying camaraderie while being tested and prepared mentally, physically and spiritually (“in Mind, Body and Soul”) for life's journey.
The American Rangers program officially began in the summer of 2013 with the inaugural Rangers Initiation Program (RIP) and a commissioning ceremony for the organization. Over 100 boys and their families participated in the event.
