A Ranger Recruit begins his journey by undertaking the RIP.
This event consists of the Adversity (Obstacle) Course, presentation of the American Rangers uniform, formal swearing-in (recitation of the Ranger Oath) and Blessing from the Chaplain.
The RIP is generally conducted annually.
